A professor asked me where do I see myself five years from now. And I pondered for a moment. And I came up with this.
It is said that 'to have low ambition is a crime'. And in that I am guilty. For my ambitions are modest and humble. I had got over such taste as I once might have had for the great and grand things, and now come to prefer what is plain and homely.
In five years from now, I see myself working in a lowly MNC as a small managerial staff, earning a humble salary.
And what about 30 years later?
I shall take an early retirement and live in a farmhouse. Every evening I shall sit down on the porch watching the sun set, with a smoking pipe on one hand, and a pen on the other, writing a the story of my life. Ah! Such a beautiful life I would have lived!

Having low ambition is crime..but who told that all the ambitions are monetary.. money is just a mean. If I want to be happy, a coffee at the road side stalls gives the same pleasure as a Barista or CCD Coffee..
Its all about having faith in oneself..
Very 'modest" and "normal" indeed...
having know u for a very long time, 5 years from now i see u as one of the most respected man of our time and 30 years from now u might even be worshiped. i say this because u are i know u r modest and humble and not becoz anything else.
@Santosh
Thanks for dropping by, Santosh. Yes, you are right in some sense. Yet many people are driven by money.
@Phoenix
er...is it not 'modest' and 'normal'?

Thanks you for dropping by. But I wish what you are saying will come true. But alas! the future is all bleak to me. The weak must be humble and modest, for they have nothing else other than that.

n if u r able to do that being all content i would definitely love to read it cause it surely would have been a life lived
@desperado
Yay! I already have someone who will read my book. I assure you, it will be be a life lived, albiet, ordinary and a plain one.
given your expensive taste
that is demanding a lot of things
@sanjay
Do I have expensive taste?
^_^ That is so unbecoming of me ^_^
Well, you must allow me some extravagance here and there, after all, I am only human.
People believe you are modest and normal. And I will not take the trouble to shattering their believes. Because belief has nothing to do with knowledge.
Moreover, with the dream life you wish to have, if you think 30 years from now you will sit and watch sunset everyday and write the story of your life, then I am afraid to tell you that you will not be able to write anything. Because whatever life you have imagined you have written here and it cannot be extended in normal form..
But then to say that you will not be able to write anything is really rude on my part and extravagant in real sense, because I am sure even then (30 years latter) you will be full of craps. And even then where ever you sit and express, you will explode; THE CRAP BOMB WILL EXPLODE.
Modest and humble indeed. I can see where you are heading. You are a good management student who knows his diplomacy lessons. Best of luck on this life that is going to be well-lived.
Modest and humble, eh, indeed ! I know that you are a good student of management and that you know your diplomacy lessons well. Best of luck in this life that is predestined to be well-lived.
@Nikhil
If you belief such is so, then it must be so. For I make people believe whatever they want to believe.
Let the play begin!
@ManishChauhan
Modestly and humbleness are not management lessons, nor are they a tack in diplomacy. Being modest and humble is only what the weak can afford to be, for they do not have power to be otherwise.
Thank you for your well wishes.
nice plans!:)
@DA

Or it it that big an ambition? To have an ordinary farm life?
@raghu
It is interesting
@ajay
Yes, one must follow what the heart says and only then one can have life well lived.
@Mirage
Yes, if I do not dream, where will I live?
@Pawan
Lol, I would not go to HImalayas or the ganges or the yellow flowers. Ordinary farmland would do just for me. A moderate climate is most welcome and a moderate rainfall too. I would not say no to heavy rainfall too ^_^
